by 6:00 AM on September 28th
because this is a one time pick-up.
Once they have passed your house,
they will not come back.

OR WREATHS, BRUSH, LEAVES, etc.,
GARBAGE OR HAZARODOUS WASTE.

The Village of Poland is seeking a part time Maintenance employee. The position is year round, duties include lawn maintenance, snow removal and general maintenance and upkeep of the village's buildings and property. Experience operating a Skid Steer is helpful, but not required. The pay rate is $15.00 per hour. If interested, or for more information, please stop in or call the Village Office at 315-826-3141

2018 Rabies Clinic Vaccination Schedule
1. All cats, dogs and ferrets three months or older must be vaccinated even if they stay indoors
2. Every dog and cat needs two rabies vaccinations one year apart then one every three years
3. Bring proof of the pet’s vaccination history to receive a three year certificate
4. Ferrets must be vaccinated every year
5. Dogs should be on a leash, cats and ferrets should be in a carrier or pillowcase
6. NO EXAMS WILL BE GIVEN
7. Owners are responsible to clean up after their animals
8. A $5.00 donation per pet is suggested to defray costs

Some residents may have noticed cloudy water, this is completely harmless and can sometimes happen during the cold weather. Please visit the link below for more information.
The Village Board Meeting are held the second Tuesday of every month at 7:00 pm. Mettings are held at the Village Office, 9 Case Street and are open to the public.

Herkimer County Office for the Aging
Need Trasportation to the grocery store or to run errands?
The Herkimer County Office for the Aging will be providing transportation in the Poland, Middleville, Newport and Ohio areas
on the 1st and 3rd Tueadsays of the Month.
The van will pick up riders at thier homes and take them to Herkimer to shop and run errands.
Start Date: February 6, 2018
If you woul like to make a reservation for the van, please call the Office for the Aging at 315-867-1121 Space is limited!
Reminder to village residents:
Burning leaves and trash is prohibited statewide.
Open burning is prohibited in the Village of Poland year round.
The only exeption is a small cooking fire which cannot be left unatended
and must be fully extinguished.

The Village of Poland has a complaint form available to anyone who has a village related complaint to report. The form is available at the Village Office or on the Village website. On the homepage, click Departments and under Village Office you will find the document. Once the form is complete you can return it to the Village Office or Email to firstname.lastname@example.org Once the form is recieved, it will be reviewed by the Village Board and promptly handled.

not in clear plastic bags.
If you need a Recycle Emblem for your covered container,
please stop by the village office at
9 Case Street during open hours.
Plastic "store bags" are not recyclable.
Please do not put them in your recycle container.
Please put them in your regular garbage bag.
Left Over Express has expressed concern
about these "plastic store bags" being put in the recycle containers.

If you live on South Main Street in the village of Poland, and you reside in the Town of Newport (which is from the Community Baptist Church of Poland towards Newport) and you have a dog, your dog needs to have a current license. If you need a current license for your dog(s), please stop down to the Newport Town Barn and we can resolve it. It is a New York State law that all dogs have a current rabies vaccination, and current dog license.
